This is an actual case study that was presented to the participants of the Financial Modeling World Cup 2022, Stage 6 (September 2-5).

Case study description:
One morning you came to work and found out that system that matches stock orders and determines the prices have crashed. The trading day is about to start and something needs to be done. Fortunately, you remembered the old meme that Excel is the atlas holding the entire financial system of the world on his shoulders. You decided to create a model in Excel as a quick solution while the main system is being restored.

Your goal is to determine the opening price that allows the maximum possible number of shares to be traded at the start of the trading day while maximizing the number of shares traded throughout the trading day.
